The past year has been a wonderful year

family and friends are generally happy and fine

there were bad moments for sure

but we managed to get through

coz hope and love is always there

 

I am no longer thrilled on new year's eve

like i used to be as a child

instead now i feel peaceful

and sing out loud to my guitar  

hmm, i like it that way

 

i have learned to not ask for too much from others

and to give more

to be happy and contented

to be less mad at things

to be thankful for what we are given

 

i cherish the beautiful moments we spent

and try not to cry when people do leave

i pray for the next time we meet

dear friend, i will be here for you

no matter how far away you go
